This week, our regular Political Theory reading group had been planning to branch out somewhat by reading Weber's Politics as a Vocation. Although there were some interesting points toward the end about ethics of conviction vs. ethics of responsibility, and some rhetorical flourishes, I found the reading quite hard. It's quite dry, and predominantly sociological observation rather than argument. Sorry Sarah.
Anyway, it turned out that Tuesday night was pub quiz night at the Old Bookbinders, so we ended up competing in that largely instead, and won a free round of drinks out of it. Too bad we let ourselves down on the music round.
